Your Privacy Matters: FinFormatly is designed with your privacy as a top priority. All file conversions happen locally on your device. We do not collect, store, or transmit your financial data.

Information We Do NOT Collect

Your Financial Data is Private:

  • No Financial Data Collection: We do not collect, store, or transmit any of your bank statements, transactions, or financial information.
  • Local Processing Only: All file conversions happen locally on your iPhone or iPad. Your financial files never leave your device.
  • No Content Analysis: We do not read, analyze, or process the content of your bank statements.

Information We Collect

To provide app functionality and improve your experience, we collect limited technical data:

1. Authentication Data

  • Anonymous User ID: When you first use the app, we create an anonymous account using Firebase Authentication to track your conversion quota.
  • Sign-In Credentials (Optional): If you choose to sign in with Google or Apple, we store your authentication credentials to sync your quota across devices. We only receive your email address and name if provided by the sign-in service.

2. Usage Data

  • Conversion Quota: We track how many file conversions you've performed to enforce free tier limits (stored in Firebase Realtime Database).
  • Subscription Status: If you subscribe, we track your subscription status through RevenueCat to provide unlimited conversions.

3. Advertising Data

  • Ad Interactions: When you view or interact with ads (through Google AdMob), advertising identifiers and interaction data may be collected by Google to serve relevant ads.
  • Rewarded Ads: We track when you watch rewarded ads to grant you additional free conversions.

Data Storage

Your Files

Any files you import into FinFormatly are temporarily stored in your device's secure app sandbox. These files are:

  • Only accessible by the FinFormatly app
  • Stored temporarily for conversion purposes
  • Never uploaded to external servers or cloud services
  • Protected by iOS security mechanisms
  • Automatically deleted when you remove them from the app

App Data

Technical data (quota counts, timestamps, subscription status) is stored in:

  • Local Storage: Your device's secure UserDefaults for offline functionality
  • Firebase Realtime Database: Synced to the cloud to maintain quota across devices (if signed in)
  • RevenueCat: Subscription status and purchase receipts

Third-Party Services

FinFormatly integrates with the following third-party services:

Firebase (Google)

  • Firebase Authentication: For user account management (anonymous, Google, and Apple Sign-In)
  • Firebase Realtime Database: For syncing conversion quota across devices
  • Firebase Remote Config: For remote feature configuration
  • Privacy Policy: firebase.google.com/support/privacy

RevenueCat

  • Purpose: Subscription and in-app purchase management
  • Data Collected: Purchase receipts, subscription status, and anonymous user identifiers
  • Privacy Policy: revenuecat.com/privacy

Google AdMob

  • Purpose: Serving banner, interstitial, and rewarded video advertisements
  • Data Collected: Advertising ID, device information, ad interaction data
  • Note: You can opt out of personalized ads in your device settings

Your Rights and Choices

Data Access and Deletion

  • Account Deletion: You can permanently delete your account and all associated data immediately through the app's Settings screen. This will:
    • Permanently delete your account and authentication credentials
    • Immediately remove all your conversion quota data from our servers
    • Delete all synced data from Firebase
    Important: Active subscriptions must be cancelled separately through the App Store. Account deletion does not automatically cancel subscriptions.
  • Sign Out: You can sign out from the app to stop syncing quota data while retaining your account for future use.
  • File Deletion: Delete converted files directly from the app at any time.
  • Advertising Opt-Out: You can limit ad tracking in your device settings (Settings > Privacy > Tracking).

Data Retention

  • Account Data: Retained until you delete your account through the Settings screen. Upon deletion, your account and quota data are permanently removed immediately.
  • Subscription Data: Retained by RevenueCat for the duration of your subscription and as required by law. Subscription data may persist even after account deletion until the subscription period ends.
  • Advertising Data: Managed by Google AdMob according to their retention policies

Children's Privacy

FinFormatly is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us to request deletion.

International Data Transfers

Your data may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own, including the United States where Firebase, RevenueCat, and Google services are hosted. These transfers are protected by appropriate safeguards including standard contractual clauses.

Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data:

  • All data transmission is encrypted using HTTPS/TLS
  • Firebase Authentication uses secure tokens and encryption
  • File data never leaves your device and is protected by iOS sandboxing
  • We regularly update our security practices and dependencies

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
